After establishing CRED as a credit cards bill payment app in the first edition of CREDs IPL partnership in 2020 (not everyone gets it campaign), in this season, we wanted to associate CRED as the credit card bill payment app that gives you Rewards & Cashbacks for every bill payment. The business objective was growth i.e acquire new users from our target audience of credit card owners (M,F 25-45 yrs) onto the app and get them to pay their first credit card bill on CRED, earn CRED coins and win rewards & cashbacks.

We started the ad with a simple product explainer narrated by an Indian actor; Jim Sarbh (who was part of the earlier ad campaigns) and in the latter part we featured major Indian celebrities / cricketers doing something completely opposite to their core persona i.e in this ad, while Rahul Dravid is known to be a calm person, we see him having anger issues / raging while he's stuck in traffic. But how did this campaign become so viral? well that's a trade secret that not everyone gets (it) ;)
